Why does the health industry just treat symptoms instead of curing the problem?
Let me start out by bringing up what is now basically a cliche; ‘there is no money in curing ailments.’ It would be nice if that statement was not true, but the sad fact is the statement is profoundly true.
Imagine two scenarios, the first scenario is how our health system operates. You are diagnosed with high and rising blood pressure. You certainly are not alone, about 30% of Americans currently have high blood pressure(hypertension). A feeble suggestion is made to modify your diet. But very rarely does that work, and soon comes the perscriptions for the blood pressure medications. Patients often start on 2 medications, but after many years some end up on 6 different medications to treat the condition. Even the 2 medications cost 100′s of dollars a month, for life. They require continuing visits to the doctor to monitor how you are doing on the drugs and give you a perscription for a refill, and then to the pharmacist to dispense the medications. All for substantial fees.
Then there are the side effects of these drugs. If side effects emerge the patient has to go back to the doctor, and try different medications or take more medications to treat the side effects. This is how you see many older people taking 8 different drugs or more a day.
Alarmingly these drugs do not even stop the advance of the condition. At best some types of medications slow down the progression of the underlying condition. For example some high blood pressure medications simply relax the blood vessels. This does lower the blood pressure moderately in the here and now, but it does nothing to reverse the underlying reason for the systemic problem.
So the long run endgame for most hypertension patients ends up being the operating table. Fabulously expensive operations, some of the heart surgeries cost 250,000$! And yes I said operations in the plural, you often meet people who have had multiple heart and artery operations. Again the operations are not dealing with the underlying problem.
When you add up all of these visits to the doctor, visits to the pharmacist, orders of patented drugs for life, let alone surgeries(and the recovery periods from each surgery), it doesn’t take long before we are talking 100′s of thousands of dollars.
In the second scenario a health practitioner diagnoses you with high and rising blood pressure. He then provides you with a list of minerals, vitamins and supplements and the doseages required of each that you need to take over the next 3-6 months to reverse the condition. All of them natural substances that are not-patentable, cheap and widely available.
Next he gives you a detailed instruction book on what you should to change your diet to, and how to make those changes over the coming months. A third item is given to you, a booklet containing information on how to gradually scale up your physical activity, what types of physical activity are ideal, the recommend durations to aim for, suggestions on how to make doing them consistently easy and so on. This booklet also contains a section on breathing and how to oxygenate your body.
Over the coming 3-6 months you meet with this practitioner several more times and he measures your progress and makes sure you remain on track. Soon you have ameriolated your ailment, your blood pressure is back in the normal range, the plaque in your arteries is reversing, your arteries are rejuvinating.
In the coming years when you stray from the protocals, if the condition starts coming back, you simply go back to guide and follow it. I will tell you why our society does not go for this second scenario. The problem is this second scenario might give the ‘system’ a thousand dollars if that second health practitioner is lucky.
It simply would not support the vast industry that exists today. More than 20 million Americans now work in health care. It is one of the few growth areas, and one of the few areas where average folks can make a good living. And most of them had to spend years and years in education and interning to get into the jobs they are now. Imagine you are a cardiac nurse, you worked hard in school, you worked hard at your job to make it up to this level, and now you are making really good money. That money goes to pay for your mortgage, car payments, food on your family’s table, you need that monthly pay check. And you see in your job that no patients are really being cured, you are basically butchering people.. or do you choose not to see it?
And it is not just in a capitalist society that there is the problem. A socialist society faces the same problem from a different angle. Each government department wants to grow each year, the need has never been greater, the challenge always requiring more money, more staff, more power. Have you ever heard of a government department say that honestly they are doing such a good job at defeating the challenge they are tasked with defeating, that this year they require less money? That this year they can reduce their staffing levels, including getting rid of some of the bureaucrats? Of course not they are always in full expansion mode, just like every other human organization. It is human nature which seeks this expansion.
Look, the human body is meant to be healthy. You should be healthy. All your ancestors share something in common; they all were able to breed. They all were healthy enough to breed. Rare genetic mutations are really the only reason you should not be healthy. Which as the name implies should be rare. But we are not living in that environment that our ancestors evolved to live and thrive in. When you follow my program and learn exactly how to nuture the body in all the ways I tell you, your body will return to a state of health. Your body should be healthy, like some annoying weed in the garden that grows so quickly with lush foliage and strong roots.:) Hypertension in addition to being dangerous in its own right, is a warning sign that your body is struggling.
Can you cure heart disease without cleaning the plaque out of the arteries?
Does Cholesterol Really Cause Heart Disease? -A very important Question
Is it possible to actually clear out the arterial plaque? – Yes it is
I send out a bi-weekly FREE email report with useful information on high blood pressure. I invite you to join the email mailing list. I never sell, rent or in any way share the list with anyone. I actually do not even recommend specific manufacturer’s products through the emails. Or anywhere on my site. My value to customers is as an independent source of wisdom for how to cure their high blood pressure.
I feel anyone who is making money pushing specific products is going to lose that neutrality and purity of their advice. Even if it is on a subconcious level.
I also do not believe in spam of any sort. I send out a bi-weekly email, with interesting information. If I ever did not have some interesting information to share, I would simply not send out that bi-weekly email. -Douglas Burns
