Eating healthy means eating bland foods.. Think again, enter Spices!
When I first started altering the way I ate, I was sort of discouraged eating bland foods. Part of the enjoyment in life is enjoying delicious foods when you are hungry. Althouh as Socrates said, ‘the best sauce is hunger.’ When you are really hungry a plain chicken breast looks delicious and tastes amazing!
But in addition there is an amazing, absurd variety of spices! In this modern world we live in, which is often so deleterious to our health, when you become empowered with information, this modern world offers so much. Spices, literally from around the world. A chicken breast becomes just delicious when you start mixing in several spices. Of course you experiment to see what spices you like, and what combinations you like together.
The spices are zero calories so you can add however much you want. And if that was not good enough, so many of them actually have health benefits. Like for reducing inflammation some of the spices/herbs that are beneificial are Turmeric, Oregano, Sage and the Jamaican herb Cerasee.
And yet another benefit I found out was when I was doing research on vitamins and minerals looking at tables of how much of the nutrients were contained in different foods. Again and again different spices kept coming up as being loaded with things. Like the B-vitamins.
When you have this wonderful variety of spices and herbs you start wondering why basically everything you ate before was just loaded with fat, sugar and salt. I mean you are missing all these unique tastes. Now I come in with my lunch, which is ridiculously healthy, and people comment wow that looks and smells delicious. Here is a list of some of the spices I eat in a regular week. Thyme, Sage, Marjoram, Rosemary, Black Pepper, Sage, Onion Powder, Red Pepper, Turmeric, Cayenne, Oregano, Red Pepper and Paprika! I love to mix them together and make my own combinations. Then there is teas..
I discovered in time there is no need to restrict salt that much either. You just have to avoid eating really excessive amounts of it.

I send out a bi-weekly FREE email report with useful information on high blood pressure. I invite you to join the email mailing list. I never sell, rent or in any way share the list with anyone. I actually do not even recommend specific manufacturer’s products through the emails. Or anywhere on my site. My value to customers is as an independent source of wisdom for how to cure their high blood pressure.
I feel anyone who is making money pushing specific products is going to lose that neutrality and purity of their advice. Even if it is on a subconcious level.
I also do not believe in spam of any sort. I send out a bi-weekly email, with interesting information. If I ever did not have some interesting information to share, I would simply not send out that bi-weekly email. -Douglas Burns
