High Blood Pressure vicious circle, can you get out??..
When the body is in a healthy state it is quite forgiving to damage you do to it. Indeed the body has many mechanism to repair damage. Have you ever torn up your skin, like scraping your hand, and then watched the body repair the wound, then put on layer after layer of skin, until finally the new skin matches with the skin around it. And it is mind blowing when you think about the level of repair your body was able to do?
I talk about this in the maintenance phase of the guide, once you have gotten to a state of health, and your circulatory system is in great shape, you do not have to be that careful with it. It becomes forgiving to damage. There is even an optimistic if unsubstantiated theory out there that in this state of health, minor damage can be healthy.
What happens however is with enough damage over time the body can tip from that healthy state where it is forgiving, into a vicious circle. You see this with high blood pressure when it gets high enough. The high pressure is thought to cause micro damage in the arteries and blood vessels, and causes inflamation. If the body is not in proper nutrient balance when it goes to repair this damage in the process it causes more plaque buildup and calcification of the arteries. This plaque buildup/calcification of course leads to higher blood pressure still. Which causes more micro damage and inflamation. You can see the vicious circle.
Now realize this viscious circle doesn’t spiral downwards in a week or even a month, it takes months and years. Until near the end where the acceleration goes to the ‘end game.’
This viscious circle is happening in our society broadly to peoples health. Like you see some young woman in great shape and health at 21. Then by 26 she has added 40 or 50 pounds of bodyweight and the malnourishment in micro-nutrients is starting to cause micro damage in her body, although yet unseen. At this point she is still in relatively good overall health. I’ve seen the tipping point come by the early 30′s, some chronic health problems are already developing. And then the downwards spiral towards 40, and sometimes right to being disabled by the early 40′s. You see other women, sometimes even sister’s of these disabled women that are also in their 40′s and still look in great condition, haven’t really aged. And their bodies are forgiving, like they can go out for a hike in the day, then drink a ton during the evening, and still get up and be healthy the next day. Whereas there sister who took a different path would be massively fatigued at best that next day.
If you are someone whose body has gone a ways down the downwards path I just described you are probably feeling somewhat scared and depressed. Well sometimes it takes fear to motivate us to take action. Remember back to that first paragraph and the amazing ability of the body to heal? The body’s ability to heal itself is truly remarkable. When you start reversing the damage, and nuturing your body so it can heal and repair the damage, it starts the virtuous circle going.
